Institute Village Linked programme (IVLP)

Central Silk Board is implementing IVLP programme through its Institutes. Considering the vastness of sericulture of the country, technologies developed by the Institutes should be Integrated into technology packages after testing at different nested units and directly transferred to farmer's field. Practiced as front line technology demonstration to make the technologies suitable for the farmers and for extending support to the new but enthusiastic farmers in new zones, with special reference to “Limited Resource Farmers”, Central Silk Board has decided to implement the IVLP programme covering 48 units (including tasar sector) from 2014-15 covering farmers in newer areas. IVLP is a participatory approach of scientists on behalf of the Institution, extension staff and farmers of the target area and is primarily aimed at assessing the problems of the locale and developing a technology package that will be low cost, acceptable to the local community and effective in solving the problems thereby increasing the productivity and profitability in a sustained manner. The impact of the integrated package as a whole on the production and productivity will be assessed at the farmers’ fields in different areas and the responses from the farmer’ end will be recorded. BTSSO is entrusted to implement this in three BSM&TCs during 2014-15 at Bastar (Chhattisgarh), Kharswan (Jharkhand) and Sundargarh (Odisha). During 2015-16 BSM&TC, Boirdadar (Chhattisgarh) is added. Each location is having 100 farmers (total 300) adopting the integrated technologies of tasar. The farmers have been provided with the required technology and inputs as per the package adopted. The data of IVLP fro different locations is given below.
